Hi!

My name is Lani and I am half Dutch and half Yiu Korsou. After completing my Bachelor's degree in Sports management & Entrepreneurship at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and having worked for a couple of years as a swimming instructor in the Netherlands, I came back to Curaçao to make my dream come true: starting my own swimming school!

I really enjoy working with kids and being able to teach them something beautiful that they could be proud of and can enjoy for the rest of their lives. I think every kid should get the opportunity to learn to swim safely in the way that works best for them. I also love to teach snorkeling. I encourage kids to learn about all there is to life, including sealife.

I like to swim, it makes me very happy and in the water I feel free. There is nothing better than doing what makes you happy and being able to share it with others.

I've had the privilege of learning how to swim from Enith Brigitha, the first woman of color to win an Olympic medal for the Netherlands!

I couldn't imagine nicer swimming lessons than in Curaçao on the beach. I've had lessons in the sea and in the pool at, what is currently called, 'Pisina Enith Brigitha'. I got my Teddy Bear diploma and later also the A, B and C diploma's. My mom told me that I always liked going to the beach, and swimming lessons there were a bonus. It is very important that you can swim, especially on an island that has water everywhere!

Now I've noticed that kids learn to swim much faster here than in the Netherlands, because they have fun during the lesson and don't get cold easily. The beach is associated with vacation, relaxing and having fun! Therefore, swimming lessons on Curaçao are the way to go!

Swimming instructor is a liberal profession, so not all swimming teachers have a diploma. I think it's important to be certified and that is why I obtained my diploma 'Instructor Swimminglessons Level 3' at the KNZB in the Netherlands.

I am therefore qualified to give swimming lessons, to issue diplomas, to supervise trainees and to take skills tests (checking which swimming strokes the children master and whether they are performing them correctly).

In addition to my 'Instructor Swimminglessons Level 3' I also have my Emergency Response Services (ER) certificate. As an Emergency Response Officer I am certified to act in case of lifesaving first aid, non-lifesaving first aid, fire and firefighting & alarm and evacuation.

Safety always comes first!
